SNL Digital Shorts

Friday, March 30th, 2007

In the past couple of seasons, Saturday Night Live has been featuring these Digital Shorts, usually one per show, a pre-filmed segment that often is a song of some sort. Here are some of the best.

Special Christmas Box

Andy Popping Into Frame

PPL B TXT’N 2MUCH

The Natalie Portman Rap

Unfortunately YouTube seems to have eradicated all traces of Lazy Sunday, the Chronicles of Narnia rap that simply blew everyone away.

Gone to Chi-Town

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Hey everyone, sorry I’ve been gone and not making my daily posts. Tomorrow I’ll make my first for this week. I’ve been away due to business in Chicago looking at a college there and looking at the city in general. Exciting stuff, and it left me with some great ideas for the rest of the week!

Thriller Thursday

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Yes! You heard right, featuring Michael Jackson’s Thriller: It’s Thriller Thursday!!! This is the most looked forward to day of the week, as always.

Firstly, let’s kick it off with the video in it’s entirety.

Oh, man, are you dancing yet? The people at this wedding certainly were…

If that hasn’t gotten you into a good mood yet, try this for size. Apparently there’s an Indian Version… It’s pretty sweet. *Dies of sarcasm stroke*

Wanksta Wednesday

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Well, I may have overloaded a bit much for Techno Tuesday, so Wanksta Wednesday will be a little less video heavy.

Wanksta Wednesday is to celebrate uhh… all that is wank. Sta. Whatever, here’s Fiddy Cent’s Wanksta Music Video, let’s see where things go from there.

This video is the obvious lead in to this next video, featuring a true wanksta doin’ da walk in skoo.

Okay, so maybe not as wanksta as I first thought, but let’s continue our journey into wanksta-ism.

As defined by UrbanDictionary a “Wanksta” is

1) A “wanksta” is a very basic word meaning a person who acts/looks like a gangster or thug, but has never done anything gangster or thug-like besides acting or looking like one. It can be towards any race or ethnicity. The word does NOT imply a WHITE guy acting black.

2) A contraction of “wack-ass gangsta” used pejoratively to label those who purport themselves to be ganstas but who are simply posing as such.

3) Fake gangster, hustler or faking on anything that involves doing dirt.

never went blood or crip hunting.

only when photo ops are around they quickly throw up gangsigns and meanmug like they gangbang when they don’t.

They like to act hard all the time. but when you confront them. they be like “nah dude. nah dude.”

somebody who drives around in a rent-a-car luxury car and pretends to own it. and act like he hustles.

always flashing huge wads of money in public. but in reality its his laundry money hes going to use that day. etc…

You need to stop that wanksta ass before you really get litup fool.

Oh. Okay, go look at Fitty’s video again.

Techno Tuesday

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Continuing our themed ride for this week, we have techno Tuesday, where we celebrate the sheer awesomeness of some excellent techno beats. I’ve listened to an awful lot of techno, trance, house, and dance music, but for the most part I stick to some fairly common songs in this post. Which could lead to this blog’s downfall, but I really do like the Axel F by Crazy Frog music video. Sorry! However, there are some great others that I like too, so check ‘em all out.

Beethoven Virus - Banya

Sandstorm - Darude

Every Time We Touch - Cascada

Heaven - DJ Sammy

OH NOES, You ready for some REAL techno?

Breath - Prodigy

Just Be - DJ Tiesto

As The Rush Comes - Motorcycle

Moody Monday

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Starting off this themed week with a moody Monday, we have Snow Patrol, a band with mellow tunes and melancholy lyrics. Even their upbeat songs have something a bit… sad about them. Here are a couple of videos. Even though they aren’t the most amazing videos, they still fit the songs, and the songs are definitely worth listening to.

Themed Week

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

I’m doing a bit of a themed week this week, it’s something different, so let me know what you think on Friday after it’s all done.

Don’t know what I mean by a themed week? Well stay tuned and find out!

Mad World - Gears of War

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Gears of War

Being a gamer, I keep an eye out for stuff like this. This being the video trailer for Gears of War, the XBOX 360 behemoth, featuring Mad World by Gary Jules. The actual video and song are amazing, so I’ll show those as well. The choreographed movements are simply awesome, and the tune is so drifting and dreamy.

Pete Yorn, Stealing Hearts and Minds

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Pete Yorn has recently commanded my full attention. His music and words fit my mood perfectly right now, and his music video for “Crystal Village” easily tops my list right now. I’m thinking the ladies like him, too. Oh, and you simply can’t resist the birds in “For Us”. Unfortunately my very favorite song by him isn’t available very readily, “Lose You”. God, but I love that song.

Travis - New and Old

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I’ve liked and listened to Travis for well over two years now. Ever since I first heard their singles CD, I’ve been on the look out for new stuff. Check out these classics, and this newer music video for “Closer”.

Whoa, what a trip. I couldn’t take more than about 3 minutes before giving up on sanity completely. That is so weird. I don’t like it.

Dancing Dora

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

Here is what could possibly be the most retarded video I’ve ever seen. Of course, it compares with most regular cartoon Dora episodes, except it’s more entertaining. My friends and I want to all dress up similarly and cruise down the highway. Maybe rock out to a little Bohemian Rhapsody. Anyway, with no further ado, here is… Dancing Dora.

I’m envious, how ’bout you?

Hellogoodbye - Love / Hate.

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Okay, well I knew I would like Hellogoodbye when I saw the name of their latest album that came out in 2006. “Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!”. Come on, folks, seriously.

However, they’ve got a rather pop-ish sound, which will definitely turn a lot of people off of it. It’s so up beat though, that I feel like just taking this CD and cruising down the highway with not a care in the world. Their single “Here (In Your Arms)” is incredible, and I can’t get enough.

Here are a couple of videos, pretty well done, if a little cliche.
